Lance Burton
When not levitating someone such as Pamela Anderson during guest spots on "The Tonight Show", Lance Burton has been at the center of a number of other television productions, including Animal Planet TV's "Secrets of Animal Magic" and the Discovery Channel's "More Science of Magic".From sleight-of-hand tricks to grand illusions, Burton is quick to immerse audiences in his world - where gloves turn to doves, showgirls appear out of nowhere and objects levitate across the stage. And his chatty, meet-me persona with the audience is enjoyed by young and old alike; whenever Burton asks for youthful volunteers, more than enough teen-age types rush to the stage. In fact, volunteering for a magician while he was a youth in Kentucky is what got Burton hooked on the business. His devotion to learning tricks became intense, and a Kentucky magician, Harry Collins, later took notice and brought Burton under his wing. Eventually, Burton claimed a national magicians' title, and a "Tonight Show" appearance would lead to a solid career in Las Vegas, as well as appearances around the world. Not only do local polls often give Burton "best" plaudits in the magicians' category -- U.S. News & World Report has called him "magic's hottest new star."
