Wendy Liebman

Wendy Liebman has been a regular on late night television, including Carson, Fallon, Letterman, Kimmel, Ferguson and Leno. She has done 1/2 hour specials for HBO and Comedy Central, and her first hour, “Wendy Liebman Taller on TV” premiered on Showtime 11/11. Wendy has been in two documentaries: “The Aristocrats,” and “the boys: The Sherman Brothers’ Story,” and she was the recipient of The American Comedy Award for Best Female Comedian in 1996. Wendy currently co-hosts UNBOUND with Terri Nunn, on KCSN, 88.5 FM in Los Angeles, and writes LMAO with wendy, a blog about health (because if you can’t do, you should teach)! Wendy performs at clubs, corporations and benefit concerts throughout the US and Canada, and lives in Los Angeles with her husband, her stepsons and her two funny dogs. You may also recognize Wendy from her breakout performances on America’s Got Talent.

Career Path

1984Took a stand-up class at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education and began performing on the Boston comedy circuit, discovering her signature style of subverted punchlines delivered in a near-whisper.
1996Won the American Comedy Award for Best Female Comedian, beating out peers on the late-night television circuit where she had already become a regular on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
2006Featured in the celebrated documentary 'The Aristocrats' alongside over 100 comedians, bringing her deadpan subversive delivery to one of stand-up comedy's most analyzed shared jokes.
2011Premiered her first full-hour special 'Wendy Liebman: Taller on TV' on Showtime, a career milestone after years of half-hour specials for HBO and Comedy Central.
2012Co-launched 'Unbound with Terri Nunn', a weekly radio program on KCSN 88.5 FM in Los Angeles, co-hosting with Berlin lead singer Terri Nunn and mixing personal storytelling with classic rock.
2014Reached the finals of NBC's 'America's Got Talent', exposing her understated stand-up style to a primetime national audience of millions.
2021Appeared in the FX documentary 'Hysterical', which premiered at SXSW, profiling the careers of boundary-breaking women in stand-up comedy.
2022Opened for David Spade in downtown Los Angeles and headlined Flappers Comedy Club, including a benefit performance for Abortion Access Front, all while producing 'Locally Grown Comedy', her monthly showcase in Studio City featuring top-tier stand-ups.
2026Performed at the Conejo Valley Comedy Festival as part of 'Love is a Joke', continuing her regular presence at comedy clubs across the U.S. and Canada.
