She established her distinctive comic persona as the star, writer and producer of her mega-hit TV show, "Roseanne." The series enjoyed a highly successful nine-year run on ABC and redefined the way middle-class American families are portrayed on television. Roseanne was recently re-launched and was a hit again in 2018 until controversy hit. Roseanne grew up in Salt Lake City. While working as a waitress, her hysterical comments to customers gave rise to comedic aspirations. Using her working class female perspective as the basis for her act, she quickly became the Queen of Denver Comedy. Soon she was spotted by a talent scout from "The Tonight Show," which led to multiple appearances and her own HBO special. Roseanne’s feature film credits include "Meet Wally Sparks" with Rodney Dangerfield, "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues" with Uma Thurman, John Waters' "Cecil B. Demented," "She Devil," co-starring with Meryl Streep, and "15 Minutes," among others. Roseanne's autobiographies, "Roseanne My Life as a Woman" and "My Lives" established her as a best-selling author, and she also hosted her own talk show for two very successful seasons.
